I will probably get myself in trouble for saying this but what the heck.
Why did they make me lead teacher when I am still trying to get these
classes done and get my licensure? I don't know everything. I thought that
the Lead Teacher was someone who had all the answers, like how to use
IGpro without error and was a wizard at IEP on line. I am still trying to learn
both of those.
I feel comfortable with my lessons, lesson planning, behavior management
skills etc.. but the technical aspects, plus overseeing other teachers... etc.
I had to be the "site supervisor" last week, and it was fun, a total rush (I am
an adrenaline junkie) and I loved it, I only had to call the resource officer once!
I appreciate the fact that they trust me enough to put me in charge, but I feel like
such a farce because I don't know everything.
Thoughts?

Hi Cat,
It sounds as if they see the excellence in you that you are not seeing in yourself, which I think happens to a lot of us! If the others think you can do it, I'm sure you can!! I think the biggest thing for us all to remember is that teaching is trial and error..no one has all the answers and nothing will work 100% of the time with all students. So, keep up the good work..you must be doing something right to be team lead :)

You are lead teacher because of your attitude. You really enjoy and motivate your students...and that's what its all about. I'm confident that under your leadership, the other teachers will "catch" some of your spirit. All the administrative stuff, hopefully, will come together. I still struggle with IEP online too. There are so many fields to complete, I don't think I will ever be confident that I've filled everything out correctly. And what about SCORE and PASS?? How in the world are BSP teachers supposed to keep up with that. I can't find the time to plan, let alone go into each section of each course for each grade that I'm teaching and enter assignments. I think we have to stop beating ourselves up for what we don't know. I think we're all in the same boat. It's your attitude, organizational skills, and professionalism that earned you the title of lead teacher...and that's what you will pass on to the teachers on your team. Keep smiling.
