Marie Mackrell

Stephanie,
Someone told me to try a card or popsicle stick system. They said I should give her a certain amount of cards/sticks and once she no longer has any cards left, she can't ask any questions. Maybe I should give it a try. It is a self contained classroom, so it is pretty obvious when a student needs help.

Hi Marie,

I have also tried giving students a sticky note and asking them to write their thoughts or questions down on it during instruction, letting them know these will be addressed at an appropriate time in class. I have found that most of the time, the students don't take the time to write anything down and so we continue moving along.
